Pediments
Pediments illustrate the influence of Classical Architecture on Georgian buildings. A pediment is a long triangular construction designed to emphasise the breadth of the building over its height. A broad building is stable, sturdy and immovable. Eighteenth century designers were keen to construct structures that would stand the test of time. |
